Hi, I'm Glen. I'm raising money for my mom, Charlotte, and stepdad, Brian Campbell of Canton, Georgia.

If you know Brian, you know he spent about 40 years in healthcare, working with doctors and hospitals to help them improve their services. You also know he is one of the kindest, most caring people around, and that he is not a complainer. That is exactly why it is hard for our family to ask for help, and exactly why we need to.

Brian kept going. Over the last five years, Brian slowly lost his sight. Four years ago, he lost his driver's license, and for the last two years he has been legally blind. Most people would have stopped working. Brian didn't. He got to work by Uber with a cane, through a lot of falls and a lot of hard days, and he kept a positive attitude the whole way. He also lives with Type 1 diabetes and heart disease, and he never let any of it change who he is.

Then he fell. Recently, Brian had a bad fall and broke his hip. He has had surgery and is now working hard in recovery. He can no longer work, travel or use a computer, so he can't reach out to all the friends and colleagues he has made over the years. We're doing that for him.

Where things stand. With rising costs, less income and Brian's health getting worse, Mom and Brian have used up all of their savings and resources. Their mortgage payment is already past due. They have decided to downsize: sell their home and move to a smaller, affordable house. Before it can sell, it needs repairs they can't afford: water damage in the basement and laundry room, a water heater that needs replacing, and three heating and cooling units that need replacing. On top of that, Brian's medical costs while he recovers are approximately $1,000 a month.

What your gift does. Every dollar goes to the costs listed below. Our first goal of $24,000 covers the mortgage, three months of Brian's medical costs and the most urgent repairs. If we get there, we'll raise the goal to finish the rest. We'll post updates as each repair gets done, and as Brian recovers.

Where your gift goes
Right now: $24,000

  • Past-due mortgage and association dues$4,900
  • Water damage repair, basement and laundry room$5,500
  • Repair 3 heating and cooling units$8,000
  • Replace water heater$2,800
  • Brian's medical costs during recovery (3 months)$3,000

My mom put it best: "After exhausting all of our resources, we are asking for your help. Through all of this, Brian remains a loving husband, father and grandfather, and still the most positive person I know."

If you can give, thank you. If you can't, sharing this page means just as much. Brian has spent his life showing up for other people. Now we're asking you to show up for him.

With love and gratitude, Glen, on behalf of Charlotte and Brian
